Long time no speak!

Well hello there! (Day 1)
Re-cap of my holidays so far.
Can't believe it has been 2 months since I last blogged. That is very naughty of me as I said to myself that I would try and blog as often as I could. Oh well I guess that is what happens when you have to endure 13 exams, I hate GCSEs. Thank god they are all over, as I can imagine not only myself but thousands of other students the same age as me would have had a sigh of relief when the examiner said for the last time "Time is up, please put your pens down and close your exam paper".

Every single teacher said that this summer would be the best summer. However sadly I will have to disagree. I have been off school for about 2 weeks now and nothing out of the ordinary has really happened. Of course I've been out with my friends a few times, but there has been no real excitement. Summer 2012 seems to be that it may be a bit of a wash out- quite literally! I can't believe that we have apparently had a months rain in the space of about two days?! What's going on!

A big highlight of my Summer holidays so far was definitely the tennis. Tennis is the only sport that I really enjoy watching. During the two weeks of the competition I watch it avidly. I just think it is such a gentleman sport as you 99.9% of the time the tennis players convey such politeness and good sportsmanship towards other players, which is something that you don't really see in such sports like football. Obviously I love Andy Murray especially when we saw a more tender and emotive reaction from him after he lost the match against Federer. I have got to admit my favourite tennis player has to be Rafael Nadal. And no I don't just like him because he is gorgeous and has an amazing body! I generally love his game. He has one the best forehands and is in fact the only player that can really test Federer skills, this was first seen when Nadal beat Federer in 2008 Wimbledon/

One of my aims during the summer is to find a job, so I made a c.v about a week ago and since then I've been handing them out and sending them through email. Even though it is really embarrassing going into all the shops and cafes in my town, it'll be beneficial in the end.

Not only did I hand out c.vs but I also filled out some application forms including Mcdonalds which I was succesful in! Yesterday I went to my Mcdonalds interview. I was really scared  has I have never been to an interview ever before. If I didn't have my friends with me I think I would have never had it as I was such a "scardy cat". Firstly, I had an informal interview with a really nice woman called Ruth, then I went on the drive through (which was surprisingly stressful) then I had a more formal interview with the manager. I really hope I get the job has it's really good pay considering I cannot be on the minimum wage yet because I am not yet 18.  Also, everyone was so nice even though it was very male dominated they were all so friendly and helpful so fingers crossed!!

I went to Snow White and the Huntman the other week with a friend from school. I was really excited  as I had heard such good reviews about it and also the cast was tremendous. However, even though facially I thought Kristen Stewart looked exactly how many of us picture Snow White especially as she had dyed her hair black. However, at some points of the film I thought that Kristen could have been a little more loveable instead of coming across as quite guarded. As of course Snow White is meant to be like the Disney Character. It did follow some of the story line as we are all familiar with (the Disney Version). However, the film showed more areas of evil and war. If it's still in the cinema I really recommend you go and see it, especially if you are a massive fan of Chris Hemsworth!! ;)

Today
Well I got up at 10 had breakfast, went in the shower and then got changed into some comfy clothes. I took some pictures of the bridesmaid dresses that we want to sell on ebay. Then I served the web and watched some youtube videos from Fleurdeforce, vlogswithjim and Sprinkleofglitter.  After this I'll go for a jog and perhaps catch up with some friends.

My favourite song at the moment

I find out about new music through the Radio I'm not one for constantly buying new songs on itunes. I normally listen to Radio 1, especially to the Chris Moyles Show in the mornings, as that is when I am getting ready for school. I also find Viva and 4music a really good way in keeping up to date with new music.
It wasn't till last week when I heard this song on the Greg James' show. the band is from New York City, fun, their song is "We are young". I just love the sound of his voice and the meaningful words which he sings. . The song leaves an impression on me for a long while and the catchy tune stays in my head for ours, like now for instance.
If you've never listened to radio 1 before I fully recommend djs like Chris Moyles 6:30-10.00 Scott Mills 1:00-4:00 and Greg James 4:00-7:00. I also recommend Sara cox. She is so funny, down to earth and plays great music.

If you are interested in listening to the song I mentioned here is a link to it on youtube:

Everything happens for a reason...

This is a quote I live by, and is the only one I do live by. It is one the most simplest sentences, but yet it holds so much truth. So many things in my life have happened which has left me to resort this saying. Which has somehow helped me to understand and come to terms with whatever has happened at that particular time. I can relate it to anything. Can you?

My Favourite Place...

Now when you read this you may have stereotyped my favourite my place to be somewhere hot and exotic or urban and iconic.
That is where you are wrong my friend. My favourite place is somewhere which may come across as a pleasant beach but nothing spectacular.
And to some extent you are right. But I believe that even the backstreets of a city could be special to you if it holds something close to your heart or tugs on your heart strings.
My favourite place is Red Warf Bay it is in Anglessy.  A place which I think is greatly under estimated. It holds the most majestic landscapes in the whole of Great Britain, and for a tiny little island, even though it is perhaps old fashioned in its ways and culture, the people there are so friendly and are so different to the sometimes self centered, materialistic people you meet everyday. Perhaps they are like that because they are cut off from urban life. Perhaps the coast and sense of freedom you are enriched with affects the people of Anglessy to reflect their habitat?
Now I'll stop being so philosophical. But I really do recommend Anglessy if you are looking for a little get away from normality.  Here are some photo's I took recently when we stayed for a night in Anglessy:

If you like what you see I would recommend that you stayed at the Trearddur Bay Hotel, here's a link to their website: http://www.trearddurbayhotel.co.uk/

Not only is Anglessy great for their landscapes it is also great for water sports. So if you enjoy water skiing or canoeing you should definitely visit Anglessy, it is great for all those kinds of hobbies as it is a big part of Anglessy's peoples enjoyment.

Review of Johnny Be Good

Unfortunately to my parents dismay, I have become a “chick lit addict”, rather than reading the vigorous, insightful and educational books my parents inspired me to engage in, (they just didn’t seem worthy enough of a few days of my spare time). Therefore ever since my first indulgence into the “chick lit” genre, I have been an addict. Unwilling to push aside my love of romance in books and make room for the several of other genres there are. Furthermore, before my recent engagement in to the sterling book “Johnny Be Good”, I primarily blamed this addiction on what some may call the “Queen” of “chick lit”, Bridget Jones by the author Helen Fielding. Now, that is not the case, I now blame it upon an author (with the weird surname) Paige Toon.Amongst the gossiping in one of the country’s best magazines “heat”, Paige Toon has quickly  become a well known author in terms of the “chick lit” genre, (well, certainly in my eyes she has).  Even though she may not be compared to the likes of Jilly Cooper, who has had heaps of success, I do believe Paige Toon will be able to prolong her success for years to come, and will able to establish a mark within the “chick lit” genre. This being due to her quick wit and her engaging writing style. This for me is the fourth book I have read from the author Paige Toon and similar to the others, I was utterly consumed and unwilling to release this book from my grasp. No wonder it only took me a day to read! This book, is definitely a page turner, for a chick lit addict like me.Johnny Be Good begins with Meg (the main character) flying to LA after landing her dream job as a PA of the famous and utterly sexy singer, Johnny Jefferson. Straight away this made me feel a pang of jealousy, and definitely touched upon the wishful thinking that teenage girls have. However determined Meg,  vows before she has even set eyes upon her employer that she will not fall under the spell of his dreamy, roguish good   looks. Of course like any other “chick lit”, she does.Another male main character appearing alongside the famous Johnny Jefferson is Christian, Johnny’s childhood, writer friend. Christian is much more of a down to earth man, who is pleasant but perhaps slightly of a boring nature. Surprisingly though, he has an effect on Meg later on in to the book.Events, parties, gigs and other highly glitz appointments for Johnny to attend fly by, and soon Meg suddenly realises that she is under Johnny’s spell. However, unlike other simmering relationships, Meg’s is slightly different. Johnny is along the path of alcoholic self destruction which leaves Meg and Christian to pick up the dirty pieces. The frequent back in calls of Johnny leads Meg and Christian’s relationship to grow, until it is obvious that Christian has fallen for Meg. However sadly for Christian, Meg’s feelings for him are strictly friendship as her heart lies with Johnny... (although it’s not what you think)Soon though, after the frequent calls from Johnny while drunk or tied up in bed nurturing a hangover. Meg suddenly realises she needs to escape the “bitchy” world of the media haven, LA, therefore Meg decides to travel back home to where she thinks she belongs. However, it doesn’t go according to plan. Meg somehow falls into the comfortable and safe arms of Christian. A predicament is soon on her hands. Meg finds herself torn between two men. Who does she chose? The man with the rock star lifestyle, oozing with good looks, but always unreliable. Or the man who is predictable, who worships the ground she walks on, the man who will always treat her well. Who should she chose? Should she follow her heart? Or her sensible head? These are the questions I found myself asking, as if I was involved in the situation of the love triangle.“Johnny Be Good” is an extremely well written, which definitely consumed me into thinking Meg was my own friend in this predicament, and I think this is due to Meg being a relatable character. However, the whole book did tend to only focus on the relationships between the two men, it would have been interesting to see a little more substance within the book perhaps. The two male main characters I thought were very well written, especially Johnny. Johnny seemed to reflect the lifestyle and the manner that male rock stars have. Whether Christian was definitely the “good boy”, who are always pleasant, but occasionally lack in the excitement that women crave for, and in this book, what Meg craved for.

My Favourite Trends at the moment..

I am a big lover of reading magazines and checking the latest dailymail gossip. I know it's shallow but I just can't help it.
But one of the reasons why I love it is because I love seeing what celebrities are wearing and how they accessorize. One of my favourite fashion trends of this season has to be Maxi Skirts and Midi skirts/dresses. I just LOVE them. They are so easy to put an outfit together with. They instantly make you feel stylish and glamorous. What I also love about them is you can dress them up or done, they be worn for any occasion. If it be a casual get together with some friends, or if you're going out on the town. To me they are a staple piece and come at a good price. I find that New Look are great for Maxi Skirts, and what a coincidence they are currently having a 50% sale on their website, be sure to check it out: http://www.newlook.com/. I recently bought this from there: http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/dresses/red-pleated-chiffon-dip-hem-dress_246510760 I was really happy with the price I paid for this, they are so many bargains on the website, it's a sin if you don't check it out!
Another trend I am also loving is this craze for Demin Jackets recently. I recently bought myself one from the republic website, for £15, what a bargain. I love it. It's dark denim and has 3/4 sleeves. Unfortunately they are sold out. They were high in demand. If you're looking for a denim jacket though be sure to check out New Look and Topshop they're currently doing some great denim jackets.
Last of my favourite fashion loves at the moment are skater skirts. I am currently waiting for my skater skirt to arrive in the post from Topshop! Here is a link to it, I was really pleased with the price, I just hope it meets my expectations: http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33057&storeId=12556&productId=4468189&langId=-1&categoryId=&searchTerm=skater%20skirt&pageSize=20. As you can see it is a just a plain black one. But it'll be so useful in all seasons. I'll team it up with pretty tops, with cardigans or blazors, with opaque black tights, teamed with black wedged shoe boots. Also if you a currently in full time education and fed up of wearing trousers I find them a nice alternative, or even to bodycon skirts. Even though I like bodycon skirts, I do seem to find them a little tight and sometimes too short, especially for school.

Give me some of you favourite trends and pieces of clothing you love yourself!
